| Claim: | a tubular vessel having an inner surface and an outer surface, a first open end, a second open end and a longitudinal axis; |
| Claim: | a means for dividing the vessel into a first chamber and a second chamber, said means comprising |
| Claim: | a first plate and a second plate with a membrane positioned therebetween; |
| Claim: | wherein the first plate defines a plurality of openings; |

| Claim: | the openings are aligned so that medium can move from one side to the other side; |
