| الوصف: | 104 As one of the most important Chinese medicine classics, On Cold Damage was approved by many physicians over the ages. Even so, On Cold Damage was written in simplicity, there are many difficulties left for explanations. With the combinations of self-practices and explaining the literal contents of the literature work, physicians had enriched the contents of On Cold Damage, it also became easier to understand comparing to the past. Since On Cold Damage mainly discuss the symptoms of external contraction of cold evil, the exterior evil most pass from the exterior to interior. Way to cure exterior patterns and interior patterns may differ. Therefore, to understand the principles of curing both exterior patterns and interior patterns became significant important towards the studies of Chinese medicine. In this article, traditional Philology and modern Hermeneutics will be used as research methods, referring to Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Coffer, Plain Questions, The Magic Pivot, and the annotations from physicians over the ages, trying to achieve the goal of explaining the essentials and practice principles of exterior patterns. How do we justify the exterior patterns within the aspects of the six-channel pattern identification? To solve this question, we must briefly study the contents of six-channel first, then follow this tread of thought to understand exterior patterns. With the explanations made from Zhang Zhong-Jing and physicians over the ages, the principle conclusions of exterior pattern practices and cure maybe stated. The six channels along with the exterior and interior indicate the different spaces in our physical structure. Exterior pattern mean the sickness appear in places like skin and body hair, flesh or interstices. They are affecting our channels and network vessels, also the biological function of our body’s construction and defense. The interior patterns, on the other hand, influent inner organs. As above stated; the exterior and interior within the six channels are different matters, they should not be garbled. As they are different, the treatments should also be distinguished. Generally, simply interior pattern may promote sweating, may not use treatments such as interior-attack, or else transmuted patterns may occur. When interior and exterior exist simultaneously, treatment as resolving the exterior may differ from the base of patterns. Such treatments as to cure interior before exterior, after or simultaneously, sometimes even with the usage of acupuncture. |
