الوصف: This paper is exploratory in nature and seeks to investigate the impact of the state capacities consolidated and developed in the National School Feeding Programme (PNAE), after its institutionalization by Law 11.947 in 2009, on the results obtained by the programme. To this end, the case of Minas Gerais was examined, comparing the execution models adopted by the municipal and state education networks. Minas Gerais currently has the program's second largest state network and the third largest municipal network, making it a representative case study for the program's experience. The analysis is based on the theoretical framework of state capacities, with the study of interactions between technical capacities and political capacities, and their impact on the implementation of public policies. In methodological terms, descriptive statistics were used, drawing on data from the FNDE and the IBGE, as well as the regulatory framework and the literature review. The analysis undertaken points to a positive impact of Law 11.947/2009 on the systematization of the PNAE in the state of Minas Gerais. In both the state and municipal networks, a process of increasing administrative and political capacities for operating the program was observed following the enactment of this law. At the administrative level, the institutional arrangement seems to have favored the state network more; while at the political level, the potential falls more to the municipal level. ; Este estudio tiene carácter exploratorio y busca investigar el impacto de las capacidades estatales consolidadas y desarrolladas en el Programa Nacional de Alimentación Escolar (PNAE), después de su institucionalización por la Ley 11.947 en 2009, en los resultados obtenidos por el programa.
