| الوصف: | Ph.D. ; New-generation migrants’ marriage has attracted considerable public attention in the past few years. Except for their increasing marital instability, marital quality of new-generation migrants has also been reported to be lower compared with common rural and urban residents. Always being referred as one homogeneous population, the new-generation migrants, in fact, can be divided into multiple subgroups which distinguish themselves from each other with their largely differentiated childhood growing-up experience. New-generation migrant sub-groups’ difference in marital quality has not been investigated by empirical researches, so does the influence of their childhood growing-up experience on their marital quality. Guided by attachment theory, this study addresses the following research questions: 1) How is the marital quality of the new-generation migrants? Is there any sub-group difference? 2) What is the influence of new-generation migrants’ differentiated childhood growing-up experience having on their marital quality? 3) Will the relationship between new-generation migrants’ growing-up experience in childhood and their marital quality in young adulthood be mediated by their attachment security and sexuality related characteristics? and 4) Will the effects of childhood growing-up experience, attachment security, and sexuality related characteristics on young migrants’ marital quality be different among new-generation migrant sub-groups? ; This study collected data using self-administered questionnaires in Shenzhen. SPSS 25 and AMOS 24 were used for data analysis. The result of independent samples t-test indicated that there was no significant sub-group difference between new first-generation migrants and second-generation migrants regarding their marital quality.
