الوصف: Two diets, one rich in fruits and vegetables (F&V diet), and another rich in F&V and low-fat dairy foods and low in saturated fat, total fat and cholesterol (DASH diet), reduced BP in 459 adults with DBP 80–95 and SBP<160 mmHg compared to control diet with low F&V and average fat. Participants were assigned to control, F&V, or DASH diet. Blood lipids were measured at baseline and after 8 weeks in 436 participants, 49% women and 60% African-Americans. At baseline participants (in mg/dL) had mean TC 191.4, LDL 121.5, and HDL 48.2 and median TG 94.
