الوصف: The implementation of actions to achieve the objectives of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) mobilizes substantial financial contributions from water agencies and offices every year. On average, they pay out a total of 1.8 billion euros a year to co-finance prevention and restoration projects. The econometric double-difference method is used to assess the extent to which interventions, financially supported by the Rhine-Meuse Water Agency between 2010 and 2015, have significantly modified the condition of watercourses subject to domestic and agricultural pollution and hydromorphological obstacles.Impact estimates are significant for domestic pollution indicators: a water body benefiting from a new wastewater treatment facility would show a medium-term reduction in its average ammonium concentration of 26% and a reduction in its maximum total phosphorus concentration of 11%, compared to a water body not benefiting. This corresponds to a reduction in the average ammonium value of 0.11 mg/litre (for a good status threshold of 0.50 mg/litre) and a reduction in the maximum total phosphorus value of 0.03 mg/litre (for a good status threshold of 0.20 mg/litre).With regard to operations implemented to combat diffuse agricultural pollution, the impact of one operation appears to be insignificant for pesticides, and significant but of little importance for nitrates. In fact, in the medium term, a beneficiary water body would have an average nitrate concentration 11% lower than a non-beneficiary water body, i.e. almost 1.82 mg/litre for a good status threshold of 50 mg/litre. The econometric method used does not detect any significant impact on the value of the multimetric invertebrate index following operations aimed at restoring the hydromorphological condition of watercourses. ; La mise en œuvre d’actions pour l’atteinte des objectifs de la directive-cadre sur l’eau (DCE) mobilise chaque année des contributions financières conséquentes de la part des agences et des offices de l’eau. Au total en moyenne, ils versent ...
