| الوصف: | El estudio de la evolución de la cancillería real de Castilla bajo Alfonso VIII permite derivar ciertas conclusiones sobre el papel individual de los miembros de su personal en la redacción de los diplomas regios, concretamente por medio de un análisis detenido de los preámbulos, su formación y alteraciones a lo largo del tiempo en la mano de los distintos scriptores. Asimismo, esta base permite medir el equilibrio entre tradición e innovación en el trabajo de cancillería. La consideración de la imagen del monarca ideal, tal como se propone tanto en fuentes literarias como en los mismos documentos de la cancillería, conduce a una comprensión más clara del alcance de la propaganda política de la época en el más amplio contexto cultural de la corte castellana. The study of the Castilian royal Chancery’s evolution under King Alfonso VIII allows us to draw certain conclusions on the role of individual members of that office in the process of drafting royal documents. We will present a detailed description of preambles, their elaboration and evolution in time and by the hands of different scriptores. This will also allow us to gauge the balance between tradition and innovation within the Chancery. A more thorough grasp of the scope of political propaganda at the time can be determined through the image of the ideal king as depicted both in literary sources and in Chancery documents within the wider context of cultural developments in the Castilian court. |
