The MDBs are currently facing two major challenges. On the one hand, thecrisis generated by the COVID 19 pandemic and its enormous economicimpact; on the other, climate change and its effects on all areas of humanactivity, including as a potential trigger for future new pandemics. The articlefocuses on the MDB's response to the pandemic and the contribution of theseinstitutions to climate finance, even in the context of COVID. The idea is todemonstrate the importance of these banks in the dynamics of the internationalfinancial system and the convenience of a greater approach by Cuba to them toexplore still unexploited opportunities and thus contribute to the diversification ofexternal financing sources ; Los BMD se enfrentan en la actualidad a dos grandes desafíos. Por un lado, lacrisis generada por la pandemia de COVID 19 y su enorme impacto económico;por el otro, al cambio climático y sus efectos en todas las áreas de la actividadhumana, incluso como potencial desencadenante de futuras nuevaspandemias.Se incursiona en la respuesta de los BMD ante la pandemia y en lacontribución de dichas instituciones al financiamiento climático incluso en uncontexto de COVID. La idea es demostrar la importancia de estos bancos en ladinámica de funcionamiento del sistema financiero internacional y laconveniencia de un mayor acercamiento de Cuba a los mismos para exploraroportunidades aún sin explotar y contribuir así a la diversificación de las fuentesde financiamiento externas |
