| الوصف: | Systemic sclerosis (scleroderma, SSc) – is unknown etiology autoimmune connective tissue disease which affects skin, vessels and internal organs. The pathogenesis includes microangiopathy, excessive fibroblasts proliferation and collagen synthesis, production of specific autoantibodies. Clinical symptoms of SSc vary, however, the most common external features include Raynaud phenomenon (about 90%) and skin thickening (sclerosis). Although the skin lesion is the main symptom of systemic sclerosis, the literature lacks more detailed data and epidemiology of skin pathology in systemic sclerosis patients. The objective of this synoptic review is to present the prevalence and clinical manifestations of skin lesions among systemic sclerosis patients using literature data of last five years. |
