الوصف: In this study, the effects of Boron compounds on the biological systems were investigated in order to emphasis on the importance of toxic effects of Boron compounds in terms of occupational health and safety. The effects of Cd (II) and Cr (VI) heavy metals ions on the toxicity of B (III) have been investigated in order to determine the toxic effects that may arise when workers who are involved with B (III) are subjected to more than one pollution simultaneously. The acute toxicity tests were carried out using the Microtox test method with a luminescent bacterium Photobacterium kishitanii. Inhibition% and EC50 values for single and binary solutions of B (III), Cr (VI) and Cd (II) metal ions at different exposure times and concentrations were calculated. To support this study results, the toxicity of single and binary metal solutions on Photobacterium kishinatii has been modelled. The modelling results and the experimental results were fitted each other strictly. Finally, the hazards and risks that could arise from Boron toxicity and also heavy metal exposure to boron are discussed in the some solutions for protection from possible risks was suggested. In order to attraction the attention about the high boron concentrations problems which may cause at boron exposure in related industries and in the case of providing the information to employers and employees in the context of occupational health and safety; this study counts significant. ; Bu tez çalışmasında Bor bileşiklerinin yol açabileceği toksik etkilerin iş sağlığı ve güvenliği açısından önemini ortaya koymak amacıyla biyolojik sistemler üzerinde etkileri araştırılmıştır.
