الوصف: 乳房炎為乳腺受到感染而發炎之一種反應,它是目前公認為造成酪農業最大經濟損失之乳牛疾病。根據美國之研究指出,一頭罹患乳房炎之母牛,每年所造成的經濟損失約185美元,而酪農業一年約損失18億美元,佔總收入的10% (Bramley et. al., 1996),其中約有70%是由於潛在性乳房炎(subclinical mastitis)所引起的(Schultz et al., 1978)。因此從酪農業經營管理之效率上而言,若能早期正確診斷出潛在性乳房炎,並予以適當之治療,則除可減少經濟之損失外,並能增加牛隻治癒的機會。 母牛罹患乳房炎時,除牛乳之體細胞數(somatic cell counts, SCC)增加以外,由於炎症反應會使乳腺細胞之細胞膜滲透性改變,因此高濃度之鈉離子與氯離子即湧入乳腺腔中,以彌補滲透壓之不足,故牛乳之導電度(electrical counductivity, EC)亦上升。同時由於細胞受到損傷,致原存在於細胞內的酵素,如乳酸去氫(lactate dehydronase, LDH)亦會滲漏至牛乳中,故牛乳之乳酸去氫活性亦會增加。由此可見牛乳之體細胞數、導電度及乳清乳酸去氫活性之測定均為診斷乳房炎之方法。 根據許多文獻指出,牛乳之體細胞數及導電度除因感染程度之不同而異外,在某些正常生理情況下亦有所變化(Postle et al., 1965;Greatrix et al., 1968;Schultz, 1972;Wolfe et al., 1972;Bodoh et al., 1975;Fernando et al., 1981, 1982, 1983;Kennedy et al., 1982;Ward and Sheldrake et al., 1983;Sheldrake et al., 1983;Wiggans and Shook, 1987;青木,1990;Hillerton and Walton, 1991),故若能事先了解這些情況,將有助於提高牛乳體細胞數與導電度對乳房炎之診斷能力。因此本試驗之目的,在探討母牛在分娩後三個月內,每週早上及下午之乳樣的牛乳體細胞數、導電度及乳清乳酸去氫及其同功活性之變化情形,並分析胎次與乳房感染與否對牛乳之體細胞數、導電度及乳清乳酸去氫及其同功活性之影響。 本試驗之結果顯示,除乳清乳酸去氫同功LDH1之活性與牛乳體細胞數呈負相關外,牛乳導電度、乳清乳酸去氫總活性及其他同功之活性皆隨著牛乳體細胞數之增加而增加。在牛隻分娩後三個月內,每週牛乳之體細胞數、導電度及乳清乳酸去氫總活性及同功之活性皆會受到泌乳階段之影響,母牛在分娩後第一週之牛乳體細胞數與乳清乳酸去氫總活性顯著較其他各週為高(P< 0.01),而後則隨泌乳週數之增加而下降,然後漸趨於平緩。在早上及下午之乳樣變化上,只有牛乳之導電度會受到影響,並以早上乳樣之牛乳導電度顯著較下午之乳樣為高(P< 0.01)。母牛乳房之四個分房皆未受到感染時,其牛乳之體細胞數、導電度及乳清乳酸去氫總活性及其同功之活性均無顯著之差異,惟當其中一個分房受到感染時,則分房乳之牛乳體細胞數、導電度及乳清乳酸去氫總活性均較未受到感染之分房乳為高。胎次對於牛乳之體細胞數、導電度及乳清乳酸去氫總活性之影響不明顯。 ; The purposes of this study were conducted to investigate the relationships of the somatic cell counts (SCC), electrical conductivities (EC) and milk serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activities in the quarter milk and the effects of parity, stage of lactation, different quarter, infected and uninfected status on SCC, EC and LDH activities. The experiment was starting from December 1998 to May 1999. Milk samples were collected weekly from different quarter of 10 Holstein cows in the morning and afternoon milking from calving to three months of postparturient period.
