الوصف: It has been declared a pandemic for COVID-19 disease all over the world by the World Health Organization. We are going through a process in which awareness of the importance of the struggles of healthcare professionals working at the forefront in combating the pandemic in health institutions is increasing. We see that healthcare workers in the high-risk occupational class also get COVID-19 disease. However, it seems that there is no legal consensus on the assessment of SARS-CoV-2 exposures of healthcare workers. As a matter of fact, employers have not put into practice on evaluating the SARS-CoV-2 exposures of healthcare workers as an occupational disease. During the pandemic, diff erent regulations were made in many countries regarding the SARS-CoV-2 exposures of healthcare workers. For this purpose, we put forward conceptual studies on occupational health and safety measures in our study and tried to reveal the reasons for reporting this exposure as an occupational disease. In order not to interrupt the fight against COVID-19 disease, which has aff ected the whole world, we tried to reveal the importance of reporting the exposure of healthcare workers as an occupational disease in terms of public health. © 2021, Turkish Medical Association.
