الوصف: Cells undergo epithelial-mesenchymal transition to invoke more complicated incidents such as distant organ metastasis and immune escape, during the process epithelial cells lose their capacity of cell-cell adhesion and polarity. Previous work has established the role of beta-catenin, TGF-beta and PTEN gene in EMT. We analyzed data from immunohistochemistry in tissue microarray and found that TFDP3 was expressed in kinds of malignancies including skin, lung, prostate, lymph node, breast and in testis tissue, providing evidence for TFDP3 as a member of cancer-testis antigen family. We also found that expression level of TFDP3 was correlated with TNM stage in clinic and that TFDP3 was highly expressed in cases accompanied by distant metastasis, indicating that TFDP3 might be involved in EMT in breast cancer. Overexpression of TFDP3 wound enhance cell migration in wound healing assay, utilizing TFDP3-siRNA to silence TFDP3 would repress cells to undergo EMT both in transwell and wound healing assay.
