| الوصف: | Las tres ciudades principales en la Comarca Lagunera; Torreón, Gómez Palacio, y Lerdo, se emplazan sobreel curso bajo del río Nazas en el semi-desierto del noroeste mexicano. Entre 1946 y 1968 se construyen, una serie de presas y canales para regular el caudal del río. Este sistema de regulación permitió administrar el aguapara riego agrícola, reducir las inundaciones en zonas anegables en la ribera y proporcionar agua potable a las ciudades de la Comarca. Sin embargo, también propició la desaparición de la corriente de agua en el cursobajo del río en la ribera de las tres ciudades, y la desecación de la Laguna de Mayrán en la desembocadura del Nazas. En este sentido se observa que, el sistema de regulación también alteró y condicionó hasta hoy en día, las lógicas de desarrollo urbano de Torreón, Gómez Palacio y Lerdo y su relación paisajística con el territorio. Comarca Lagunera’s three major cities are Torreon, Gomez Palacio, and Lerdo. All three cities are located in the downstream course of the Nazas River in the semi-desert of the Mexican northwest. In order to regulate the flow of the Nazas River, a series of dams and canals were built over a twenty year period between 1946and 1968. The system permitted the administration of water for agricultural irrigation, the reduction of floodingin floodplain areas on riverbanks, and access to drinking water for local populations. Unfortunately,consequences of this system included water recession in the downstream course of the riverbanks in thesethree cities, and the drying of Mayran’s Lagoon at the mouth of the Nazas. Urban growth of Torreon, GomezPalacio, and Lerdo was permanently altered, as was the cities’ landscape relationship with the territory — a direct result of the construction of this regulation system. |
