During the last decades, the electric scenario has considerably changed, moving towards a more sustainable society. With the power grid development, the inclusion of new energy sources and consumption devices becoming more and more complex, a broader understanding of the interaction between these elements and the electrical system is required. Electrical equipment and the use of electricity are developing towards more energy-efficient and high-technology products and this has an impact on the power quality as well. This paper will focus on harmonic disturbances in the frequency range between 2 and 150 kHz, which are often referred to by the term supraharmonics, aiming to develop a modeling procedure of an EV battery charger emitting supraharmonics in order to quantify them. The model is thought to be as generic as possible, in order to recreate the phenomenon and to be able to study it into details. Simulations have been performed with MATLAB/Simulink® environment and more specifically the Simscape PowerSystems toolbox.
