The article focuses on effects of FSA regulations and the Data Protection Act to the freedom of Information act of Great Britain. It has caused an increase in compliance requirements for the organizations around the world but it has been beneficial for many vendors of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) technology. The organizations are increasing the number of services they are receiving from ECM technologies. Earlier ECM technologies were doing all sort of work for organization from scanning and workflow to web content and e-mail management. Now the organizations are looking forward to obtain service of ECM industries in solving all their compliance problems which includes not only addressing market legislation and regulation but also issues like the Employment act 2002. But there is always a danger in buying the packaged compliance solutions from vendors. The question which is asked by each and every compliance focused organization is about the flexibility of the packaged offering. Organizations which can achieve compliance within a scalable framework will get significant long term benefits. |
