The article discusses the clinical implications in patients with multiple myeloma and the newer methods which have been developed for treatment of non-secretory myeloma which is a variant of myeloma disorder in which patients are unable to secrete immunoglobulin. It discusses about the serum free light chain assay for assessment of plasma cell disorders in myeloma patients. It also discusses about the positron emission tomography and multi-parameter flow cytometry for assessment of patients. |
