مستخلص: The article presents information on agricultural biodiversity heritage sites in the Brahmaputra River Valley Region in India. The State of Assam in India is predominantly made up of the Brahmaputra Valley. The valley is primarily an agricultural region, that provides for the livelihood of about 75 percent of the population of Assam. Rice is the primary food crop in the region; and the cash crops grown include jute, tea, cotton, rapeseed, mustard, sugarcane, and potato. The agroclimatic condition with high rainfall is suitable for cultivation of a wide range of agri-horticultural crops, including plantation crops, fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, and nuts. Tea is the main plantation crop in Assam.
