The article discusses the results of a study which examined the pulmonary disposition as well as the in vivo efficacy of sustained release aerosolized budesonide (BDS) liposomal systems for improved treatment of asthma. In the study, liposomes were prepared via lipid film hydration method while trehalose was used as cryoprotectant to freeze dried them. It states that this research has resulted to the development of stable freeze dried liposomal systems for pulmonary delivery of BDS. |
