مستخلص: Insulin pump therapy is becoming a preferred treatment modality of diabetes specialists for the management of patients with diabetes. As a result, internists, general practitioners, nurse practitioners, and allied health care professionals will more frequently encounter patients using, or desiring to use, these devices. This article serves as an introduction to the principles that guide patient selection, patient education of self-management skills, and the practical aspects of pump management that everyone assisting patients on pump therapy should be aware of.
