مستخلص: A new report from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev presents fresh data on craniocerebral trauma and its effects on dizziness. The study aimed to compare dizziness in individuals with central vestibular dysfunction (CVD) to those with a post-traumatic peripheral vestibular etiology. The researchers evaluated the University Health Network (UHN) Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) database and the UHN WSIB neurotology database to study head-injured workers with features of CVD. They found that symptomatic post-traumatic central vestibular injury is uncommon and primarily occurs following high-impact trauma. Complaints of persistent imbalance and ataxia were more common than vertigo, and eye movement abnormalities were indicative of central nervous system injury. [Extracted from the article]
