مستخلص: This article discusses the challenges of diagnosing internal neoplasia (abdominal and thoracic tumors) in horses. The clinical signs of these tumors are vague and nonspecific, making it difficult to obtain a definitive diagnosis. Ultrasound is commonly used to investigate suspected disorders, but it has limitations, such as the inability to view certain organs fully. Abnormal findings on ultrasound can indicate neoplasia, but histopathology samples are usually required for a definitive diagnosis. Biopsies can be performed using ultrasound guidance, but complications can occur. Despite limited treatment options, pursuing an antemortem diagnosis can be justified as long as the welfare of the horse is not compromised. [Extracted from the article]
