The purpose of this work is to know the social responsibility (RS) practices associated with community tourism in the province of Santa Elena (Dos Mangas and Olón communes), identifying the legal, social, institutional and economic behavior of the three-dimensional model of Caroll (1991). The results show that in these locations the accumulated experience, political organization and good tourism practices prevail, constituting among other factors the explanation of the degree of social responsibility they have in the face of the sustainability of their communities. El propósito de este trabajo es conocer las prácticas de responsabilidad social (RS) asociadas al turismo comunitario de la provincia de Santa Elena (comunas Dos Mangas y Olón), identificando los comportamientos legales, sociales, institucionales y económicos del modelo tridimensional de Caroll (1991). Los resultados muestran que en estas localidades se destaca la experiencia acumulada, la organización política y las buenas prácticas turísticas, constituyendo entre otros factores la explicación del grado de RS que tienen frente a la sostenibilidad de sus comunidades.
