The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has successfully implemented a Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) capability to provide intelligence analysts with the ability to automatically detect objects of interest. This was achieved through the use of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF) pathway, partner funding, and a non-Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) or FAR-based agreement/contracting strategy. The program utilized the Software Acquisition Pathway (SwAP) and leveraged other partner investment funding to develop the MLOps capability. The integration of MLOps capabilities has resulted in significant time savings for analysts and has been adopted by other Department of Defense organizations. [Extracted from the article] |
