Norwegian renewable power producer Scatec has achieved financial close on the first 60MW of the 120MW Mmadinare solar complex in Botswana. Scatec and the Botswana Power Corporation signed a 25-year power purchase agreement for the construction of a 60MW solar PV facility in the Mmadinare district in August 2022. Scatec was awarded a 60MW expansion to the project in late 2023, bringing the total capacity to 120MW.
