The article focuses on the neuro-ophthalmic indications of hydrocephalus in adults which is characterized by enlarged ventricles and believed to be caused by too much cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Topics discussed include the history, the biologic and physical manifestations, and the classifications of hydrocephalus such as obstructive hydrocephalus and communicating hydrocephalus. Also mentioned is the need for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to determine the type of hydrocephalus. |
