The article discusses several human studies that implicates a role for the hypothalamus in primary headache syndromes. In the study concerning whether biochemical abnormalities consistent with the reported functional or structural changes are present in the hypothalamus of patients with cluster headache, the author concluded that the study provides evidence of persistent biochemical change of the hypothalamus in patients with episodic cluster headache. |
