A 79-year-old woman with a medical history of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and type 2 diabetes mellitus presented to the emergency department, reporting intermittent chest pain for the previous 2 weeks. A coronary angiography was carried out showing severe stenosis at the ostium (not easily seen in this projection) and midsegment of the left anterior descending coronary artery. Because of the persistent chest pain and the electrocardiographic changes, an urgent coronary angiography was performed, which confirmed coronary stent patency. [Extracted from the article] |
