The article describes the five-year outcomes of a randomized trial of laparoscopic adjustable gastric band (GB) surgery in overweight but not obese Australian patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). Diabetes remission was observed in five GB participants and two who received medical care alone (MED). Quality of life and health utility significantly improved in the GB participants than in the MED participants. |
