An editorial is presented, in which the author discusses infant colic, a disease in which child cries or fusses more than three hours a day for at least three days a week. It mentions role of gut microbiota, inflammation and, the microbiota-gut-brain axis in the pathophysiological mechanisms of colic. It also mentions understanding of the host–microbe interactions in infants with colic will help in the development of novel options to prevent and treat this disease. |
