مستخلص: The article presents a commentary on the relevance of brain insulin action to the control of plasma glucose in humans. Topics covered include the role of central nervous system (CNS) insulin action in mediating the inhibition of endogenous glucose production (EGP) and the ability of liver to take up glucose. The impact of acute brain insulin signaling on EGP during a normal physiological hyperinsulinemic clamp is also discussed.
