U radu autorica piše o informiranosti učitelja o učenicima oboljelima od dijabetesa. Dijabetes je sve češća bolest današnjice. Danas se sve veći broj učenika osnovnih škola susreće s dijabetesom koji nastupa odjednom te mijenja njihov život. Cilj rada je istražiti jesu li učitelji informirani o dijabetesu kod učenika, koliko znaju o bolesti, prolaze li edukacije vezane uz dijabetes. Također utvrditi probleme s kojima se susreću učitelji i učenici i način rada kada je u pitanju suradnja s udrugama djece oboljele od dijabetesa. U radu se prvotno kroz pregled literature daje uvid u pojam specijalne pedagogije i inkluzivnog odgoja i obrazovanja, definira se pojam dijabetesa kao oblika posebne potrebe te se daju osnovne informacije o bolesti i posljedicama koje bolest nosi. Pregled literature uključuje i pregled dosadašnjih istraživanja iste ili slične tematike. U radu se koristi kvalitativna metodologija istraživanja. Metodologija rada se sastoji od pregledavanja relevantne literature o temi te provođenja polustrukturiranih intervjua s učenicima koji boluju od dijabetesa i njihovim učiteljima te s predsjednicima udruga djece oboljele od dijabetesa. Ključni rezultati do kojih dovodi ovo istraživanje pokazuju da je znanje i informiranost učitelja o dijabetesu nedovoljna te je potrebno još jako puno rada i suradnji kako bi se ta situacija promijenila. Učitelji su upoznati sa simptomima bolesti, ali nisu informirani o posljedicama koje dijabetes nosi sa sobom te ne znaju pravodobno reagirati u kriznim situacijama kod učenika dijabetičara te je stoga njihovo znanje o bolesti nedovoljno. The author writes about teacher´s knowledge about pupils with diabetes. Diabetes is an increasingly common disease today. Today, a lot of elementary school pupils encounter diabetes who act out and change their lives. The aim of the paper is to examine whether teachers are informed about diabetes in pupils, how much they know about the disease, and whether they receive education related to diabetes. It also identifies the problems faced by teachers and pupils and the way it works when it comes to working with an association of children with diabetes. The paper initially provides an insight into the emergence of special pedagogy and inclusive responses and education through a literature review, defining the occurrence of diabetes as a form of need to provide basic information about diseases and the consequences that the disease brings. The literature review includes previous research on the same or similar topics. The paper uses qualitative methodological research. The methodology of the work consists of a review of the relevant literature on these topics of conducting semistructured interviews with pupils ranging from diabetes and their teachers and presidents of associations of children with diabetes. The key results of this research shows that teacher´s knowledge and information about diabetes is insufficient, and much more work and collaboration is needed to change this situation. Teachers are familiar with the symptoms of the disease, but haven´t been informed about the consequences that diabetes entails and don´t know how to respond timely in crisis situations of diabetic pupils and therefore knowledge about the disease is insufficient.
