LEWISTON, Idaho, Feb. 9.—Members of the chamber of commerce, the junior chamber of commerce, the Lions, Rotary and Kiwanis clubs, scout executives and Boy Scouts at luncheon today heard Henry Georg, president of the district committee of Spokane, talk on scouting. Mr. Georg said that as the youth develops a nation develops and called attention to the fact that less than % of 1 per cent of boys who have been scouts for six months ever come before a criminal court. "Scouting is a play program," Mr. Georg said, "but it is play that, begins at 9 years of age and develops strong bodies and strong minds. It develops competitive work and a sense of fair play. Teaches Nature. "It teaches the wonders of the great outdoors through contacts with nature. During the last 12 years 40 lives have been saved in the Inland Empire because boys were taught first aid and life saving, in the Boy Scout program. "Any youth program that develops good character is worthy of the best thought and financial aid of every citizen for the very foundation of our great democracy is threatened and must look to the youth of today for its salvation. "As long as boys and girls are brought into a world so involved, we must make them stronger menially, physically and morally to cope with our so-called thought and give them a greater desire for right living. The Boy Scout court of honor will be held at the senior high school tomorrow night, with L. L. Carlson presiding., United States -- Boy Scouts. Breweries. Bridges. Buildings. Building Operations.
