The article presents a case report of a patient with advanced non-small cell lung cancer who had a fatal pulmonary toxicity after receiving erlotinib. The patient has been found to have pathologic findings of usual interstitial pneumonia on the resected lung cancer specimen before he received erlotonib. The report suggested that a patient receiving erlotinib should have their baseline respiratory symptoms substantially documented before administering any medication. |
