| الوصف: | Monografia (especialização) - Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, Centro de Ciências Rurais, Curso de Especialização em Educação Ambiental, EaD, RS, 2011. ; The present study aimed to propose a strategy for the environmental education to Rolante river stressing its importance as an hydric resource to the present and also to the future time with the fifth grade middle school students from Pastor Ivo Souza Adventist School, located at Rolante city-RS, to investigate the changes suffered by Rolante river during the last 20 years, verify the ribeirinha population relationship with the Rolante river as well as identify the environmental education actions to the ribei-rinha community. The methodology of the study consisted in three steps. In the first proceeded the analysis of the programmatic content of the science subject school as the National Curricular Parameters according to the water content on the Earth Planet, Water and Life, Water’s pollution and the aquatic environments’ con-servation. In the second step occurred the educational outputs to the Rolante riv-er margin to observe the changes suffered by the river in the last recent years by an-thopogenic actions. In the third stage the students knew the city’s history related to the Rolante river since the beginning of the colonization until the present time through library researches and lectures. The investigation took place from question-naires, with the ribeirinha community to the adjacent areas of school, interviewing the area residents and reporting the most striking facts connected to the river. In the last step, we promoted a Cultural Gallery, with the exhibition of materials which was pre-senting alternatives and actions to the Rolante river recovery with the participation of the river ribeirinha and the school communities.
