الوصف: In kidney recipients, the TLR4 gene polymorphisms are associated with increased infection risk and reduced acute rejection rates. Low MBL levels are related to decreased host defense against various infectious agents, especially in prolonged immunsupression. In this study, a total of 90 specimen were collected from patients who were followed by Transplantation Unit of Health, Research and Training Center of Pamukkale University. Analysis of TLR4 polymorphisms (Asp299Gly and Thr399Ile) were performed using real-time PCR. MBL levels were measured by using ELISA. Demographic and clinical data was obtained from patient records. The Asp299Gly and Thr399Ile polymorphism rates were found as %6.6 and %2.4 respectively. Asp299Gly/Thr399Ile rates was found as 9.2% in recipients. MBL levels were found below 400 ng/ml in the .4 of specimens. There wasn?t any significant association between TLR4 polymorphisms, MBL deficiency and recipients or donors, CMV, BK virus, JC virus infections, urinary tract infection. The only statistical significant finding was detected between MBL deficiency and gender. MBL levels were found significantly low in female. Although there was not any significant association between gender and TLR4 polymorphisms. Despite the fact that there were not any significant associations, low MBL levels in patients who had positive BK virus PCR, both polymorphisms in patients who had positive JC virus PCR, Asp299Gly and low MBL levels in patients who had urinary tract infeciton observed more often. Ä°nterestingly; despite the fact that there were not any significant associations, CMV and BK virus infections detected more less in patients who had TLR4 polymorphisms. None of recipients had acute rejection, because of this we could not compare whether there was an association between TLR4 polimorfizm, MBL levels and acute rejection or not. As a result; any significant association between TLR4 polymorphisms MBL levels and various infectious agents were not found. Large scale studies must be performed to understand ...
