| الوصف: | Ph.D. ; The rise of casualization in labor touches upon the lives of Chinese migrant workers. Employment, as an integral part to the workers’ general existence, inevitably influences the way they practice intimate life. What could be the linkage between the workers’ working situations and their individual intimacies? This dissertation probes into this possible nexus. What’s more intriguing at this current epoch is the wide adoption of mobile phone amongst Chinese migrants. Its use is integrated into both work and intimacy practices. Therefore, employing a casualization framework involving migrant workers, employment status, martial status and mobile phone use, this dissertation is a concrete case study analyzing how grassroots women migrants practice intimacy in the face of transient labor condition and rapid technological development. Specifically, it explores the intimacy practices based on observations of grassroots married migrant women in a local community NGO of Shenzhen, China. It is argued that in terms of intimacy practice, the historical data suggest a continuity of casualized pattern reflected in intimate relations and activities amid migrant workers long before the novel changes brought by the popularity of mobile communication technologies. Meanwhile, the impact of mobile technology in empowering or disempowering grassroots population is contingent upon the formation of metis. This mixed effect is reflected both at the individual and collective levels of technology adoption. ; 勞動力的零散化深深影響了當下的中國農民工群體。就業，作為其生存不可或缺的一部分，不可避免的也會影響其親密關係的體驗。工人的就業現狀與其私人生活中的親密關係之間，存在何種聯結？本篇論文就將探討該關係的可能。更加引人注目的是，當下，手機使用在農民工群體中十分普遍。工人的手機使用已經與其工作和生活密不可分。因此，本文採用“零散化”的框架，來探討中國底層女性農民工工友，在身處動蕩多變的勞動市場以及快速發展的技術前景下，是如何踐行親密關係的。具體來說，我的案例關注在中國深圳市一個基層NGO 社區中的女性農民工工友。從本文的討論中可以看到，歷史上，中國農民工的親密關係，早在手機等電子媒介普及流行之前，就已經展示出了“零散化”的特質，并一直持續至今。同時，手機對於草根階層的賦權功能，并不單單在於手機本身，而是使用它們的工友們及其參與的工友NGO，是如何形成并應用metis。 ; Zhao, Yuchao. ; Thesis Ph.D. Chinese University of Hong Kong 2019. ; Includes bibliographical references (leaves 371-405). ; Abstracts also in ... |
