The article reports an investigation of a nationwide listeriosis outbreak associated with the raw produce cantaloupe in the U. S. in 2011. It informs that 147 outbreak-related cases were identified in 28 states and infections were among older age people, pregnant women and newborns. It suggests prevention of produce contamination within farm and processing environments. |
