The article presents a study assessing the hypothesis that pain intensity is associated with a patient's acceptance of surgical complication's risks when considering lumbar spinal fusion. A structured questionnaire was completed by patients visiting a spine surgeon for the first time for the treatment of a nontraumatic or non-neoplastic spinal disorder to calculate the acceptance of complications risks. The results suggest lower back pain (LBP) as the most influential factor. |
