مستخلص: The European pilchard (Sardina pilchardus Walbaum, 1792) is one of the main target species of commercial fishery along the Aegean coasts. This work was carried out between July 2014 and June 2015 off Saros Bay (North Aegean Sea, Turkey). The study focuses on determining the reproductive period of the species. The elevated GSI values suggested the spawning period occurred mainly between September and May with a peak in February. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
