    الوصف: Email continues to be a pivotal and extensively utilized communication medium within professional and commercial domains. Nonetheless, the prevalence of spam emails poses a significant challenge for users, disrupting their daily routines and diminishing productivity. Consequently, accurately identifying and filtering spam based on content has become crucial for cybersecurity. Recent advancements in natural language processing, particularly with large language models like ChatGPT, have shown remarkable performance in tasks such as question answering and text generation. However, its potential in spam identification remains underexplored. To fill in the gap, this study attempts to evaluate ChatGPT's capabilities for spam identification in both English and Chinese email datasets. We employ ChatGPT for spam email detection using in-context learning, which requires a prompt instruction and a few demonstrations. We also investigate how the number of demonstrations in the prompt affects the performance of ChatGPT. For comparison, we also implement five popular benchmark methods, including naive Bayes, support vector machines (SVM), logistic regression (LR), feedforward dense neural networks (DNN), and BERT classifiers. Through extensive experiments, the performance of ChatGPT is significantly worse than deep supervised learning methods in the large English dataset, while it presents superior performance on the low-resourced Chinese dataset.

    الوصف: ChatGPT's proficiency in handling modern standard languages suggests potential for its use in understanding ancient Chinese. This paper explores ChatGPT's capabilities on ancient Chinese via two tasks: translating ancient Chinese to modern Chinese and recognizing ancient Chinese names. A comparison of ChatGPT's output with human translations serves to evaluate its comprehension of ancient Chinese. The findings indicate that: (1.)the proficiency of ancient Chinese by ChatGPT is yet to reach a satisfactory level; (2.) ChatGPT performs the best on ancient-to-modern translation when feeding with three context sentences. To help reproduce our work, we display the python code snippets used in this study.

    الوصف: Purpose To investigate the diagnostic value of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) and Inhibin B (InhB) in menopausal women with osteoporosis from the Chinese Daur ethnic group. Methods A total of 175 menopausal women were selected and divided into the osteoporosis group ( N = 90) and the control group ( N = 85). BMD was measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, and laboratory indicators of osteoporosis, for example, serum osteocalcin (OC), β-collagen special sequence (β-CTX), and procollagen type I amino-terminal propeptide (PINP), bone alkaline phosphatase (BALP), AMH, and InhB were measured by commercial kits. The relationship between osteoporosis and AMH or InhB was analyzed. The predictive values of AMH and InhB were reflected by the ROC curve and logistic regression. Results The level of BMD was decreased and the levels of OC, β-CTX, PINP, and BALP of the menopausal osteoporosis group were increased. The concentration of AMH and InhB in the menopausal osteoporosis group was decreased and they had connections with each other. AMH and InhB could be used as independent indicators for the occurrence of osteoporosis in menopausal women and their combination had a higher diagnostic value. Conclusion AMH and InhB measurements in menopausal women had a certain clinical significance in the detection of osteoporosis. The occurrence of osteoporosis was related to BMD, OC, β-CTX, BALP, AMH, and InhB.

    Mediatization is now considered as a part of a broader paradigm shift within media and communication research. In this context, the current research attempts to find a new approach to a diachronic study of sub-culture from the perspective of mediatization. More specifically, it aims at constructing a universal theoretical model to study sub-cultures, which not only allows us to understand the change of communication and media during a particular period of time, but also to capture long-term interrelation processes between media, social and cultural change. The Chinese Hip Hop culture has been selected as the subject of empirical research. We observe how mediatization and commercialization as two kinds of metaprocesses have contributed to the mediatized world of “the Chinese underground Rap”. Results show that over the past three decades, there were three mediated waves – the wave of mechanization, the wave of electrification and the wave from electrification to datafication. As a result, “the Chinese underground Rap” went mainstream because of a media event triggered by an online variety show. To sum up, this dissertation conducts an empirical and reflective research based on the theoretical model of communicative figurations invented by Hepp et al.; and moreover, it explores how the mediatization theory can be applied to the study of sub-cultures.

    الوصف: International audience ; Seismic anisotropy in the upper mantle reveals geodynamic processes and the tectonic evolution of the Earth. The two most powerful methods, surface wave tomography, and shear-wave splitting observations, cannot investigate the deep local anisotropy with good vertical and lateral resolution, resulting in poor constraints on plate deformation processes of the complex plate boundary beneath the Southern California region. Here, we show that the amplitude ratio of translational displacement and rotation makes it possible to retrieve the local anisotropy in the upper mantle. Azimuthal anisotropy in the asthenosphere is well determined and resolved in lateral and vertical directions. The fast axis retrieved from amplitude observations indicates the local rapid changes in plate deformation and complex pattern of mantle flow, which is compatible with the distributions of horizontal mantle flow illuminated by geodetic measurements, providing new insights on geodynamic processes of the Southern California region.

    الوصف: International audience ; A new approach is proposed for measuring the dispersion relation of surface waves in weakly anisotropic media using a single station, which consists of translational displacement and rotation or strain. The azimuth-dependent surface wave dispersion curve can be directly obtained by using the amplitude ratio of translational displacement to rotation or strain. Using observations from earthquakes from a variety of azimuths allows us to characterize the anisotropy of subsurface media. The amplitude ratio gives the localized azimuth-dependent dispersion relations of the formation beneath a receiver without requiring knowledge of the source or structure along the path. The theory shows that in anisotropic media the coupled quasi-Rayleigh wave and quasi-Love wave will result in elliptically polarized rotational motions. In addition, rotational motion information allows the determination of backazimuth even in general anisotropic media. We carry out numerical experiments, investigate the effects of noise and degree of anisotropy and demonstrate the potential for field studies.

    الوصف: Background The aim of the study was to explore the efficacy and safety of immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) rechallenge in patients with non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods Studies that enrolled NSCLC patients treated with two lines of ICIs were included using four databases. The initial line (1L‐) and subsequent lines (2L‐) of ICIs were defined as 1L‐ICI and 2L‐ICI, respectively. Results A total of 17 studies involving 2100 patients were included. The pooled objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), median progression‐free survival (mPFS), and median overall survival (mOS) for 2L‐ICIs were 10%, 50%, 3.0 months, and 13.1 months, respectively. The 2L‐ICI discontinuation rates caused by toxicities ranged from 0% to 23.5%. Original data were extracted from six studies, covering 89 patients. Patients in whom 1L‐ICIs were discontinued following clinical decision (the mPFS of 2L‐ICIs was not reach) achieved a more prolonged mPFS of 2L‐ICIs than those due to toxicity (5.2 months) and progressive disease (2.1 months) ( p < 0.0001). Patients' 1L‐PFS for more than 2‐years had preferable 2L‐ORR (35.0% vs. 9.8%, p = 0.03), 2L‐DCR (85.0% vs. 49.0%, p = 0.007), and 2L‐mPFS (12.4 vs. 3.0 months, p < 0.0001) than those less than 1‐year. Patients administered the same drugs achieved a significantly prolonged mPFS compared with the remaining patients (5.4 vs. 2.3 months, p = 0.0004), and those who did not accept antitumor treatments during the intervals of two lines of ICIs achieved a prolonged mPFS compared to those patients who did accept treatments (7.6 vs. 1.9 months, p < 0.0001). Conclusions ICI rechallenge is a useful therapeutic strategy for NSCLC patients, especially suitable for those who achieve long‐term tumor remission for more than 2‐years under 1L‐ICIs.
