الوصف: Introduction This is an Italian single-center retrospective study evaluating safety and efficacy of biologic agents in psoriatic patients with a previous diagnosis of malignant cancer. Aim Management of moderate and severe psoriasis patients with a past medical history of malignancies could be difficult because biologic agents are historically associated with a presumptive increased risk of neoplastic reactivation or of a new incoming cancer. The aim of this study is to assess the safety of biologics in patients with a previous cancer diagnosis. Material and methods The study analyzed 16 moderate to severe psoriasis patients with a diagnosis of malignant cancer in the previous 10 years treated with biologic agents for up to at least 96 weeks. In five of these patients, cancer was diagnosed in the previous 5 years. Results We observed a rapid decrease in PASI (psoriasis area severity index) reaching a 90% improvement in 100% of patients. Oncologic follow up did not show any worsening or reactivation of cancer during the entire observation period. No new malignancies were observed in the analyzed sample. Conclusions Biologic agents in our experience have demonstrated to be safe and effective in psoriatic patients with a past medical history of malignant cancer.

الوصف: One simple way to estimate the relationship between air temperature and the energy needed for heating and cooling is to use the concept of degree day. Cooling degree days (CDD) and heating degree days (HDD) are indicators of the energy required to reach comfort levels and are related directly to energy demands. Therefore, using a novel approach, we examine the current conditions and future projections in degree days over Mexico using observations (Livneh and CPC), ERA5 reanalysis, and simulations from the Regional Climate Model (RegCM4). The RegCM4 experiments were driven by different General Circulation Models for two Representative Concentration Pathways scenarios. We consider three 20-year periods as “present conditions” (1995–2014), “near-future conditions” (2041–2060), and “far-future conditions” (2080–2099). The results suggest that in the future, under the lowest radiative forcing scenario there will be a smaller increase (decrease) in CDD (HDD) for the far-future, as compared to the near-future. This could represent the model’s response to the peak of radiative forcing at mid-century and its subsequent decline. For the highest radiative forcing scenario, we found a greater increase (decrease) in CDD (HDD) for the far-future, which could be explained by the response of the RegCM4 to the warming increase projected for 2100.

الوصف: The aim of this paper is the description, from both the biostratigraphical and sedimen• tological point of view, Of the lower member of the Rosso Ammonitico Veronese, one of the most known red, nodular, pelagic limestones of the mediterranean Jurassic. The R.A.V. is a condensed sequence Of red, mostly nodular, limestones, Often rich in internal molds Of ammonites, which is areally restricted to the "Trento Ridge", a structural high isolated in the early Jurassic by the rifting Of a Triassic, large epicontinental carbonate—platform. It spans in age from late Bajocian to Tithonian and is separated from the underlying shallow—water carbonates Of Liassic and Aalenian age by a sharp break in sedimentation, underlined by a mineralized hard ground, which lasted for all early and middle Bajocian. Two members may bc recognized in the R.A.V.: a lower (Rosso Ammonitico Inferiore) and an upper one (Rosso Ammonitico Superiore) separated by a stratigraphic gap. The lower member, ranging in age from late Bajocian to middle Callovian, is well developed only in the southern part of the 'Trento Ridge" (i. e. in the Lessini Veronesi area) and has a variable thickness which reaches a maximum of 8 meters.

الوصف: Psoriasis is one of the commonest inflammatory skin diseases determining a very high impact on patients' quality of life and daily activities and relationships. Several biologic therapies have been approved through the years for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, and efficacy and safety profile have been analyzed in clinical trials. Ixekizumab is an immunoglobulin G subclass 4 monoclonal antibody that selectively targets and binds IL-17A with high specificity and affinity. Inhibiting IL-17A activity, ixekizumab reduces and turns down levels of inflammation, resulting in the clinical improvement of the disease. Long-term efficacy and safety profile of ixekizumab have been investigated and reported in the UNCOVER trials, but in literature there are only few studies based on real life experience. We present the efficacy and safety profile of ixekizumab in a cohort of 779 patients affected by moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis and treated with ixekizumab in 11 Italian dermatology hospitals, with a follow-up of care until 192 weeks.
