    الوصف: A study of the channel $e^{+}e^{-}~\rightarrow~\mu^{+}\mu^{-}\gamma_{\ sc ISR}$, where $\gamma_{\sc ISR}$ is an initial state radiation photon, is presented using data collected by the DELPHI experiment from 1991 to 1994. The total cross-section at effective annihilation energies ($\sqrt{s'}$) below the $Z^0$ peak is obtained by using the events with relatively hard initial state radiative photon(s) ($E_{\gamma}~ ~$~1~GeV). The differential cross-section as a function of the muon polar production angle is also determined in order to extract t s alhe forward-backward asymmetries for the reaction $e^+ e^- \rightarrow \mu^+ \mu^-$ at energies $\sqrt{s'}$ between 20 and 87~GeV. The ratio of the helicity cross-sections $\frac{\sigma_{LL}+\sigma_{RR}}{\sigma_{RL}+\sigma_{LR}}$, where the two subscripts stand for the helicities of the incoming $e^-$ and outgoing $\mu^-$ respectively, is extracted from the differential cross-sections in order to test the Standard Model and to look for new physics near 80 GeV. No deviations from the Standard Model were found.

    الوصف: Measurements of the trilinear gauge boson couplings WWgamma and WWZ are presented using the data taken by DELPHI in 1998 at a centre-of-mass energy of 189 GeV and combined with DELPHI data at 183 GeV. Values are determined for Delta(g_1^Z) and Delta(kappa_gamma), the differences of the WWZ charge coupling and of the WWgamma dipole coupling from their Standard Model values, and for lambda_gamma, the WWgamma quadrupole coupling. A measurement of the magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moment of the W is extracted from the results for Delta(kappa_gamma) and lambda_gamma. The study uses data from the final states jjlv, jjjj, lX, jjX and gammaX, where j represents a quark jet, l an identified lepton and X missing four-momentum. The observations are consistent with the predictions of the Standard Model.

    الوصف: During 1993 and 1995 LEP was run at 3 energies near the Z $^0$ peak in order to give improved measurements of the mass and width of the resonance. During 1994, LEP operated only at the Z $^0$ peak. In total DELPHI accumulated data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 116 pb $^{-1}$ . Analyses of the hadronic cross-sections and of the cross-sections and forward-backward asymmetries in the leptonic channels used the most precise evaluations of the LEP energies. In the dimuon channel, events with a photon radiated from the initial state have been used to probe the cross-sections and asymmetries down to PETRA energies. Model independent fits to all DELPHI lineshape and asymmetry data from 1990 to 1995 have been carried out giving values of the resonance parameters: \begin{eqnarray*} M_Z & = & 91.1863\pm0.0028{\mbox{\rm{GeV}}} {\mbox{\rm{GeV}}} & = & 2.4876\pm0.0041{\mbox{\rm{GeV}}} \sigma_{0} & = & 41.578\pm0.069{\mbox{\rm{nb}}} R_l & = & 20.730\pm0.060 {\rm{A^{0}_{\mbox{\scriptsize FB}}}} & = & 0.0187\pm0.0019. \end{eqnarray*} These values are significantly more precise than those previously published. The results are interpreted in terms of the Standard Model.

    الوصف: The data collected with the DELPHI detector at centre-of-mass energies between 130 and 172~$\GeV$, during LEP operation in 1995 and 1996, have been used to determine the hadronic and leptonic cross-sections and leptonic forward--backward asymmetries. In addition the cross-section ratios and forward--backward asymmetries for flavour-tagged samples of light (uds), c and b quarks have been measured. The results are interpreted by performing S-matrix fits to these data and to the data collected previously at the energies near the $\Zzero$ resonance peak (88-93~$\GeV$). The results are also interpreted in terms of contact interactions, which parameterise physics beyond the Standard Model. Further interpretation of the data is made in terms of possible R-parity violating SUSY particles and of possible Z$^{'}$ bosons. No significant deviations from the Standard Model expectations are found and limits are given for the various interpretations which are made of physics beyond the Standard Model.

    الوصف: Neutral Higgs bosons were searched for in the data collected by DELPHI at a centre-of-mass energy of 183 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 54 pb\(^{-1}\). The production of the lightest neutral Higgs boson with either an on-shell Z boson or a neutral pseudo-scalar Higgs boson was analysed. Lower limits at the 95% confidence level were obtained on the Higgs boson masses. The limits are 85.7 GeV/\(c^2\) for the Standard Model Higgs boson and 74.4 GeV/\(c^2\) for the scalar and 75.3 GeV/\(c^2\) for the pseudo-scalar Higgs bosons as predicted by the minimal super-symmetric extension of the Standard Model with commonly used assumptions on the model parameters, plus the assumption that the mass of the pseudo-scalar boson is greater than 20 GeV/\(c^2\). These results significantly improve the limits reached with previous data.

    الوصف: A search for the Higgs boson in final states with one, two or three isolated photons has been performed based on data taken at LEP 2 by the DELPHI detector. The data analysed correspond to a total integrated luminosity of 67.5 pb$^{-1}$ at centre-of-mass energies of 161 GeV (9.7 pb$^{-1}$), 172 GeV (10.1 pb$^{-1}$) and 183 GeV (47.7 pb$^{-1}$). No evidence for the processes ${\rm e^+ e^- \rightarrow H \gamma}$ with ${\rm H\rightarrow b\bar{b}}$ or $\gamma\gamma$ and ${\rm e^+ e^- \rightarrow Hq\bar{q}}$ with ${\rm H \rightarrow \gamma \gamma}$ was observed. Model-independent limits on ${\rm \sigma (e^+e^-\rightarrow H\gamma)\times BR(H\rightarrow b\bar{b})}$, ${\rm \sigma (e^+e^-\rightarrow Hq\bar{q})\times BR(H\rightarrow \gamma\gamma)}$ and ${\rm \sigma (e^+e^-\rightarrow H\gamma)\times BR(H\rightarrow \gamma\gamma)}$ are set, as well as model-dependent limits on Higgs boson anomalous couplings to vector bosons.

    الوصف: From data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 53.5 pb(-1) taken during the 183 GeV run in 1997, DELPHI has measured the W mass from direct reconstruction of WW --> lq (q) over bar and WW --> q (q) over bar q (q) over bar events. Combining these channels, a value of m(w) = 80.238 +/- 0.154(stat) +/- 0.035(syst) +/- 0.035(fsi) +/- 0.021 (LEP) GeV/c(2) is obtained, where fsi denotes final state interaction. Combined with the W mass obtained by DELPHI from the WW production cross-section and with the direct measurement at 172 GeV this leads to a measured value of m(w) = 80.270 +/- 0.137(stat) +/- 0.031(syst) +/- 0.030(fsi) +/- 0.021(LEP)GeV/c(2), in good agreement with the Standard Model expectation. The width of the W boson is also measured, giving the value Gamma(W) = 2.48 +/- 0.40(stat) +/- 0.10(syst)GeV/c(2). (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

    الوصف: This letter reports the results of the measurement of single photon production in the reaction e(+)e(-) --> gamma+ invisible particles at centre-of-mass energies root s = 130 and 136 GeV and an integrated luminosity of 5.83 pb(-1), collected with the DELPHI detector at LEP. The signal is compatible with the prediction of the Standard Model for the process e(+)e(-) --> nu<(nu)over bar>gamma, and the number of neutrino families has been determined to be N-nu = 3.1 +/- 0.6. Limits have been derived on anomalous neutral gauge boson couplings and on compositeness in the framework of a specific model.

    الوصف: The partial decay width of the Z to quark pairs has been measured by the DELPHI detector at LEP. B-hadrons, containing b-quarks, were tagged by several methods using tracks with large impact parameters to the primary vertex complemented sometimes by event shape variables or using leptons with high transverse momentum relative to the hadron. In order to reduce the systematic uncertainties, in all methods the b-tagging efficiency has been extracted directly from the data. Combining all methods, the value: Gamma( )/Gamma(had) = 0.2216 +/- 0.0016(stat.) +/- 0.0021(syst.) was found, where the production fraction was fixed to its Standard Model value.

    الوصف: A search for neutral and charged Higgs bosons has been performed in the data collected by the {\sc DELPHI} detector at centre-of-mass energies of 161~GeV and 172~GeV. The analysis assumes either the pair-production of charged Higgs bosons, ${\mathrm H}^{\pm}$, or the production of the lightest neutral Higgs boson, h, with either a Z or a neutral pseudoscalar Higgs boson, A. All final state topologies expected from the decay of h and A %neutral Higgs particles into hadrons or a pair of $\tau$ leptons, and from the decay of ${\mathrm H}^{\pm}$ %charged Higgs bosons into a pair of quarks or a $\tau \nu_{\tau}$ pair have been considered. %In the case of the associated production with a Z boson, all decay %channels of the Z have been considered. %The case of a %Higgs boson decaying into invisible products has also been studied. %The results are interpreted %in the framework of the Standard Model and of its minimal supersymmetric %extension for the neutral Higgs bosons. %Results for the charged Higgs particles are deduced in the more %general two-doublet scheme. The limits are 66.2~GeV/$c^2$ for h in the Standard Model, 59.5~GeV/$c^2$ for h and 51.0~GeV/$c^2$ for A in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model and 51.5~GeV/$c^2$ for ${\mathrm H}^{\pm}$ in the general two-doublet scheme for ${\mathrm H}^{\pm}$ branching fractions into hadrons below 0.8.
