الوصف: SYSTEMIC corticosteroid therapy has, since ACTH and cortisone were first used therapeutically, proved its value in the treatment of many dermatologic conditions. Although its application has been limited by development of the side effects often associated with steroid therapy, the use of steroids has been considered mandatory in such conditions as acute disseminated lupus erythematosus, exfoliative dermatitis and bullous eruptions of the skin, including pemphigus, in which they have often been life saving.1 2 3 4 It is in these conditions, however, largely as a result of the use of large doses over long periods, that the adverse side effects accompanying steroid therapy . . .
