الوصف: The search for anomalous couplings is one of the possible ways to find any deviations from the Standard Model. Effective field theory is used to parameterize the anomalous couplings in the Lagrangian with operators of higher dimensions constructed from the SM fields. In the classical way, the limits on the Wilson coefficients of these operators are set based on beyond the Standard Model contributions induced for the signal process, whereas the ones induced for background processes are assumed to be negligible. This article provides a study of the corrections to the limits on Wilson coefficients by considering beyond the Standard Model contributions induced for background processes. The studies of Z(νν¯)γjj and W(ℓν)γjj productions in pp collisions with s=13 TeV and conditions of the ATLAS experiment at the LHC are used as an example. Cases with integrated luminosity collected during Run II of 139 fb−1 and expected from Run III of 300 fb−1 are considered. The expected 95% CL limits on coefficients fT0/Λ4, fT5/Λ4, fM0/Λ4 and fM2/Λ4 are obtained both in the classical way and in the way, where the corrections from background anomalous contributions are applied. Corrected one-dimensional limits from Z(νν¯)γjj and W(ℓν)γjj productions are up to 9.1% and 4.4% (depending on the operator) tighter than the classical ones, respectively. Corrected combined limits are up to 3.0% (depending on the operator) tighter than the classical ones. Corrections to two-dimensional limits are also obtained. The corrected contours are more stringent compared with the classical ones, and the maximal improvement is 17.2%.

The analysis including the realistic detector effects is performed in the mode where both Z bosons decay into same-flavor, oppositely charged lepton pairs. الوصف: WOS:000515091400065 ; We investigate the sensitivity of the anomalous dimension-8 neutral triple gauge couplings via process pp -> nu nu gamma with fast detector simulation including pile-up effects for the post LHC experiments. The transverse momentum of the final state photon and missing energy transverse distributions are considered in the analysis. We obtain the sensitivity to the C-(B) over tildeW/Lambda(4), C-BB/Lambda(4), C-WW/Lambda(4) and C-BW/Lambda(4) couplings at HL-LHC and HE-LHC with an integrated luminosity of 3 ab(-1) and 15 ab(-1), respectively. Finally, our numerical results show that one can reach the constraints at 95% confidence level without systematic error on C-(B) over tildeW/Lambda(4), C-BB/Lambda(4), C-WW/Lambda(4) and C-BW/Lambda(4) couplings for HL-LHC (HE-LHC) as [-0.38;0.38]([-0.12;0.12]), [-0.21;0.21]([-0.085;0.085]), [-1.08;1.08]([-0.38;0.38]) and [-0.48;0.48]([-0.25;0.25]), respectively. The inclusive cross section is measured to be s tot (pp ? WZ) = 48.09 - 0.96+ 1.00 (stat) - 0.37+ 0.44 (theo) - 2.17+ 2.39 (syst) ± 1.39(lum) pb, resulting in a total uncertainty of -2.78/+2.98 pb. Fiducial cross section and ratios of charge-dependent cross section measurements are provided. Differential cross section measurements are also presented with respect to three variables: the Z boson transverse momentum p T , the leading jet p T , and the M(WZ) variable, defined as the invariant mass of the system composed of the three leptons and the missing transverse momentum. Differential measurements with respect to the W boson p T , separated by charge, are also shown. Results are consistent with standard model predictions, favouring next-to-next-to-leading-order predictions over those at next-to-leading order. Constraints on anomalous triple gauge couplings are derived via a binned maximum likelihood fit to the M(WZ) variable.[Figure not available: see fulltext.]

الوصف: VBS-Prozesse (Vector Bosonen Streuung) bieten eine hervorragende Möglichkeit, quartische Eichkopplungen am LHC zu untersuchen. Eine gängige Methode zur Parametrisierung anomaler quartischer (aQGC) und dreifacher (aTGC) Eichkopplungen ist die Verwendung effektiver Feldtheorien (EFT). Für rein transversale Vektorbosonenstreuung wurde gezeigt, dass es Modelle gibt, bei denen Effekte in der EFT zuerst in den aQGC und damit in Dimension 8 auftreten sollten. Für die Streuung von zwei longitudinalen und zwei transversalen Vektorbosonen fehlt eine solche Analyse jedoch noch.\\ In dieser Arbeit wird eine Klasse von Modellen vorgestellt, die mehrere SU(2)$_L$-Fermionenmultipletts enthalten, welche in der Lage sind, die Streuung von Vektorbosonen mit gemischten Helizitäten zu verstärken. Die Beiträge dieser Modelle zu den Propagatoren von Vektor-Bosonen und Higgs-Boson, zu den drei und vier Teilchen Vertexen werden berechnet und eine EFT wird als Niedrigenergie-Näherung dieser Modelle konstruiert. Die Auswirkungen der Modelle werden für die Dileptonenproduktion, die Vektorbosonenproduktion, anomale Higgs-Kopplungen, On-Shell-VBS und On-Shell-Higgs-Bosonenpaarproduktion analysiert. Die Auswirkungen des Modells und seiner EFT werden verglichen und die Qualität der EFT als Annäherung des vollständige Modells wird bewertet. Abschließend wird ein Ausblick gegeben, wo man nach dieser Art von Modellen suchen sollte.

الوصف: A measurement is presented of the cross section for the electroweak production of a Z boson and a photon in association with two jets in proton-proton collisions at root s = 8 TeV. The Z bosons are identified through their decays to electron or muon pairs. The measurement is based on data collected with the CMS detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1). The electroweak contribution has a significance of 3.0 standard deviations, and the measured fiducial cross section is 1.86(-0.75)(+0.90)(stat)(-0.26)(+0.34)(syst) +/- 0.05(lumi) fb, while the summed electroweak and quantum chromodynamic total cross section in the same region is observed to be 5.94(-1.35)(+1.53) (stat)(-0.37)(+0.43)(syst) +/- 0.13(lumi) fb. Both measurements are consistent with the leading-order standard model predictions. Limits on anomalous quartic gauge couplings are set based on the Z gamma mass distribution. (C) 2017 The Author.
