الوصف: Extreme temperature exposure can have a considerable impact on the health of older adults. China, which has entered a deeply aging society, may be obviously threatened by extreme weather. Based on data obtained from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study, we apply a panel fixed effect model to investigate the impact of extreme temperature on medical costs for older adults. The results reveal a U-shaped relationship between temperature and older adults’ medical costs. Heterogeneity analysis indicates that medical costs for older adults in the South and older adults in rural areas are more significantly affected by low temperatures, mainly due to lower per capita heating facilities. Furthermore, the medical costs of older people with lower education levels are also more susceptible to temperature fluctuations. Our simulated prediction indicates that the medical costs of older adults in 2050 will be 2.7 trillion Chinese yuan under the RCP8.5 scenario, but can be reduced by 4.6% and 7.4% following RCP4.5 and RCP2.6 scenarios, respectively. Compared with base period, the medical costs of older adults in western provinces such as Guangxi and Sichuan will more than triple by 2050. Policymakers should prioritize addressing the health needs of these vulnerable groups and less developed regions with less adaptive capacity.

الوصف: Objective: To study the relationship of JAK2V617F gene mutation with cell proliferation and coagulation function in myeloproliferative neoplasms. Methods: Patients who were diagnosed with BCR-ABL-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms in Anyang District Hospital between June 2014 and August 2016 were selected, JAK2V617F gene mutation was detected, and according to the test results, the patients were divided into mutation-positive group and mutation-negative group. The expression of JAK2/STATs signaling pathway molecules and cell proliferation genes in bone marrow fluid as well as the coagulation function indexes in peripheral blood were detected. Results: p-JAK2, p-STAT3, p-STAT5, Survivin, C-myc, CyclinD1 and ASXL1 protein expression in myeloproliferative neoplasms of mutation-positive group were significantly higher than those of mutation-negative group, and peripheral blood PT and APTT levels were significantly lower than those of mutation-negative group while TT and FIB levels were not significantly different from those of mutation-negative group. Conclusion: JAK2V617F gene mutation in myeloproliferative neoplasms can promote the cell proliferation and cause the hypercoagulable state.

الوصف: To evaluate and compare the clinical efficacy and safety of recombinant human thrombopoietin(rhTPO) and recombinant human interleukin11(rhIL-11) for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced thrombocytopenia in adult acute myeloid leukaemia patients.Total of 96 adult acute myeloid leukaemia patients were divided into 3 groups according to randomized controlled method: rhTPO group, rhIL-11 group and control group, 32 cases in each group. The patients in rhTPO group and rhIL-11 received rhTPO of 15000 IU/d and rhIL-11 of 1.5 mg/d, respectively after the standard combined chemotherapy within 24 hours, and patients in control group, received nothing drugs to promote thrombocyte recovery. And rhTPO and rhIL-11 should be stopped when the Plt≥100× 10The duration of Plt50× 10Both rhTPO and rhIL-11 can reduce the duration of thrombocytopenia and the amount of infused thrombocyte, promote platelet recovery in the patients with acute myeloid leukaemia after chemotherapy, to decreae the risk of bleeding, and reduce incidence of adverse reactions, both of them can be tolerated by patients, and rhTPO is more advantage than rhIL-11, worthy of clinical popularization and application.

الوصف: To complement the activated methyl cycle (AMC) pathway at an AI-2 defect background in Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) luxS null strain.A sahH gene was amplified from Pseudomonas aeruginosa and introduced into the S. mutans luxS null strain to complement the methyl-metabolic disruption at an AI-2 defect background. Western blot, reverse-transcription PCR and AI-2 bioassay were performed to confirm the heterogenous expression of SahH in S. mutans luxS null strain. The data was statistically analyzed by SAS8.0 software package.LuxS and SahH were detected to express in Escherichia coli BL21 as well as their mRNA were confirmed to be successfully transcribed in S. mutans luxS null strain. AI-2 production was found in wide type S. mutans and its luxS-introduced luxS null strain but not found in the luxS null strain and its sahH and empty plasmid-introduced strains.A new S. mutans derivative with the AMC pathway complements while the AI-2 defect is constructed.
