الوصف: Shine Muscat, with its excellent quality and unique Muscat aroma, is emerging as one of the most profitabletable grape cultivars in Asia. However, in-depth analysis of the cultivar’s aroma profile before berries areharvest-ready is lacking. The aroma components and their concentrations undergo substantial changesduring berry ripening, which provides an opportunity for producing some juice/wine products with specialflavour. In this study, the evolution of free and bound aroma compounds in Shine Muscat grapes wasanalysed from EL-35 to EL-38. The main aroma attributes of harvest-ready berries were: ‘green’, ‘sweet’,‘floral’ and ‘fruity’. The headspace SPME-GC-MS analysis revealed that alcohols were the most abundantfree and bound compounds in Shine Muscat. Furthermore, the free forms of hexanal, β-damascenone,and (E, Z)-2,6-nonadienal determined the aroma characteristics of the grapes directly, while the boundforms of β-damascenone, (E, Z)-2,6-nonadienal, and 2-hexanol determined the aroma of Shine Muscat thatcannot to be smelled directly. Taking all indicators together, we believe that picking Shine Muscat grapesat EL-37 (when a minimum TSS of 17% has been reached) maintains its fine aroma characteristics. Theseresults lay the foundation for the further development, utilisation and study of the aroma characteristicsof Shine Muscat grapes.

مستخلص: AbstractThis study investigated the effect of Phyllanthus emblicaleaves and branches mixture (PE) on growth performance, oxidative status and intestinal characteristics in broilers, as well as the in vitroantioxidant potential of PE extract (PEE). As the result of in vitroevaluation, the PEE had a total phenolic compound content of 95.5 ± 2.75 mg of Gallic acid equivalent/g dry weight (DW), and a total flavonoid content of 3.04 ± 0.06 mg of quercetin equivalent/g DW. The PEE exhibited significant antioxidant activity through various mechanisms, including chelation of ferrous iron, reducing power, scavenging 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radicals, inhibition of liposome peroxidation and trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC). A total of 320 Ross 308 broilers were randomly allocated into four groups: control, basal diet supplemented with 0.5%, 1%, 2% PE. Each group was fed for 35 d. The results showed that the group fed with 0.5% PE had significantly better weight gain, and improved feed conversion ratio (FCR) compared to the control group. Moreover, each PE group significantly reduced coliform and Clostridium perfringensin the ileum and caecum. Additionally, PE group with 0.5% concentration had significantly higher villus height in the jejunum compared to the other group. Furthermore, compared to the control group, each PE group had significantly lower levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) and higher levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activity in the serum. In the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of chickens, each PE group showed significantly higher mRNA levels of antioxidant-regulated genes, including Nrf2, GST, GCLC, SOD1and HO-1. In contrast, the expression levels of NOX1and ROMO1genes were significantly lower. In conclusion, the inclusion of 0.5% PE in the basal diet could have a positive impact on the growth performance of broilers by modulating intestinal characteristics and oxidative status.

مستخلص: The aim of this work was to evaluate the relationships among respiratory syncytial virus infection, T cell immune response and intestinal flora Peer-reviewed papers published in English were collected through extensive searches performed in PubMed, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases. The articles were reviewed to extract relevant information on the immune responses of Th1/Th2 and Treg/Th17 to respiratory syncytial virus infection in the body. RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus, RSV) infection leads to imbalance between Th1/Th2 and Treg/Th17 immune cells, resulting in Th2 or Th17 dominant immune responses, which can generate immune disorder and aggravate clinical symptoms. Intestinal micro-organisms play very important roles in maintaining stable immune environment, stimulating immune system maturation and balancing Th1/Th2 and Treg/Th17 immune systems in children. In our review of various papers from around the world, we speculated that the steady state of intestinal bacteria was disturbed after children got infected with RSV, resulting in intestinal flora disorder. Then, the imbalance between Th1/Th2 and Treg/Th17 immune cells was increased. Both intestinal flora disorder and RSV infection could cause cellular immunity imbalance of Th1/Th2 or Treg/Th17, eventually leading to disease deterioration and even a vicious cycle. Normal intestinal flora can maintain immune system stability, regulate the dynamic balance of Th1/Th2 and Treg/Th17 and prevent or mitigate adverse consequences of RSV infection. Because probiotics can improve intestinal barrier function and regulate immune response, they can effectively be used to treat children with recurrent respiratory tract infections. Using conventional antiviral therapy strategy supplemented with probiotics in the treatment of clinical RSV infection may be better for the body. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

الوصف: Large eddy simulation (LES) using a transported PDF model and OH-PLIF/PIV experiments were carried out to investigate the quarl effects on the structures of swirl stabilized methane/air flames. Two different quarls were investigated, one straight cylindrical quarl and one diverging conical quarl. The experiments show that the flames are significantly different with the two quarls. With the straight cylindrical quarl a compact blue flame is observed while with the diverging conical quarl the flame appears to be long and yellow indicating a sooty flame structure. The PIV results show the formation of a stronger flow recirculation inside the diverging conical quarl than that in the straight quarl. LES results reveal further details of the flow and mixing process inside the quarl. The results show that with the diverging quarl vortex breakdown occurs much earlier towards the upstream of the quarl. As a result the fuel is convected into the air flow tube and a diffusion flame is stabilized inside the air flow tube upstream the quarl. With the straight quarl, vortex breakdown occurs at a downstream location in the quarl. The scalar dissipation rate in the shear layer of the fuel jet is high, which prevents the stabilization of a diffusion flame in the proximity of the fuel nozzle; instead, a compact partially premixed flame with two distinct heat release layers is stablized in a downstream region in the quarl, which allows for the fuel and air to mix in the quarl before combustion and a lower formation rate of soot. The results showed that the Eulerian Stochastic Fields transported PDF method can well predict the details of the swirl flame dynamics.

مستخلص: Seawater intrusion and drinking-water fluorosis are frequently documented along coastal plains. Groundwater is characterized by high OH-, Naþ, total dissolved solids, and low Ca2+ because of seawater intrusion, and such conditions favor sediment fluoride-leaching and fluorosis. But the geological process of seawater intrusion has not been noticed when high-fluoride groundwater along coastal areas is discussed. The groundwater and sediments in a typical seawater intrusion and fluorosis area are gained, and fluoride-leaching simulation experiments are performed. Sediment fluoride levels are equal to or lower than average sediment fluoride levels in China and Shandong province, but strong fluoride-leaching in aquifers is observed. Compared with the supplied water from the non-intruded neighboring area, the local groundwater has higher fluoride levels, together with higher pH, total dissolved solids, HCO3-, Cl-, Br-, SO42-, Na+, K+, and low Ca2+ because of seawater intrusion. Aquifer sediment fluoride-leaching ability increases with an increase in seawater (brine water) mixing ratios, and NaCl or NaHCO3 levels, but with a decrease in CaCl2 levels. This directly confirms that seawater (brine water) intrusion promotes sediment fluoride-leaching, and the high pH, Na+, HCO3-, and low Ca2+ levels caused by seawater intrusion are responsible for the high-fluoride groundwater along coastal plains. مستخلص: OBJECTIVE: Thyroid cancer (TC) is a common malignant tumor of the endocrine system, and its morbidity and mortality are in the high places. Recent studies have focused on exploring biological markers and targeted therapy for TC. This research aims to elucidate the role of LINC00106 in the progression of TC and the regulatory mechanisms. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Differential level of LINC00106 in a downloaded profile containing TC and normal tissues from GEPIA database was analyzed. Subsequently, its level in TC tissues and cell lines was detected by quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRTPCR). The relationship between LINC00106 level and clinical data of TC patients was assessed, including age, tumor staging, lymphatic metastasis, and overall survival. After transfection of si-LINC00106, TC cell metastasis was evaluated by wound healing and transwell assay. Relative levels of E-cadherin, N-cadherin, β-catenin, and Vimentin regulated by LINC00106 were determined using qRT-PCR and Western blot. RESULTS: LINC00106 was downregulated in TC tissues than normal ones. Its level was correlated to tumor staging, lymphatic metastasis and overall survival in TC patients. The knockdown of LINC00106 in BCPCP and TPC-1 cells enhanced migratory and invasive abilities and triggered the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). CONCLUSIONS: LINC00106 is lowly expressed in TC specimens, which attenuates migratory and invasive abilities in TC by inhibiting EMT as a tumor suppressor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

الوصف: Length-weight relationships (LWRs) for four species are presented, captured in the Dogxung Zangbo River, a main tributary of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, Tibet, China. Fish were captured in summer and autumn between May 2006 and September 2017 with three fyke nets from six sites. The results of LWRs for Schizothorax oconnori Lloyd, 1908, Schizopygopsis stoliczkai Steindachner, 1866, Triplophysa orientalis (Herzenstein, 1888), and Glyptosternon maculatum (Regan, 1905) provide basic data useful in fisheries science. They can assist in converting length data in to weight and biomass in cases where weight can not be taken during field studies. If regularly taken in an annual monitoring programm together with other parameters, using a standardized sampling procedure, they can also helpful in stock assessment of fish species in the Dogxung Zangbo River and the upper reaches of the Yarlung Tsangpo River basin.
