الوصف: Abstract Targeted maintenance of blood pressure for hypertensive patients requires accurate monitoring of blood pressure at home. Use of multiparametric vital signs ECG, heart sounds, and thoracic impedance for blood pressure estimation at home has not been reported previously. In an observational multi-site study, 120 subjects (female (N = 61, 52%)) between 18 and 83 years of age were recruited with the following stratification (Normal (20%), prehypertensive (37%), stage 1(26%), and stage 2 (18%). From these subjects, 1686 measurements of blood pressure from a sphygmomanometer were associated with simultaneously acquired signals from the SimpleSense device. An ensemble of tree-based models was trained with inputs as metrics derived from the multiparametric and patient demographics data. A test Mean Absolute Difference (MAD) of ± 6.38 mm of Hg and ± 5.10 mm of Hg were obtained for systolic and diastolic blood pressures (SBP; DBP), respectively. Comparatively, the MAD for wrist-worn blood pressure cuff OMRON BP6350 (GUDID—10073796266353) was ± 8.92 mm of Hg and ± 6.86 mm of Hg, respectively. Machine learning models trained to use multiparametric data can monitor SBP and DBP without the need for calibration, and with accuracy levels comparable to at-home cuff-based blood pressure monitors.

الوصف: The medicinal plants are a distinguished source of our earth, which cannot be replaced even though many developments in science and technology have been. Plants are very rich in bio-medicinal properties, as well as fabrication applications. Natural product materials play a vital role in curing many diseases without having many side effects; that’s why many researchers were working on phytochemistry. Plant organo-compounds such as quinine, alkaloids, polypeptides, lectins, coumarin, terpenoids, flavones, flavonoids, flavonols, fatty acids, tannins, and essential oils are metabolites for biological activities. In this review, plant materials and plants part, which are responsible for antimicrobial activity, have been discussed.

الوصف: Abstract Background Prescribing patterns for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients evolved with approval of non‐Vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) over time. Objectives To assess changes in anticoagulant prescription patterns in various geographical regions upon first approval of a NOAC and to analyze the evolution of oral anticoagulants (OACs) use over time in relation to CHA2DS2‐VASc and HAS‐BLED risk profiles. Methods Global Registry on Long‐Term Oral Antithrombotic Treatment in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation (GLORIA‐AF) Phases II and III reported data on antithrombotic therapy for patients with newly diagnosed AF and ≥1 stroke risk factor. We focused on sites enrolling patients in both phases and reported treatment patterns for the first 4 years after initial NOAC approval. Results From GLORIA‐AF Phases II and III, 27 432 patients were eligible for this analysis. When contrasting the first year with the fourth year of enrolment, the proportion of NOAC prescriptions increased in Asia from 29.2% to 60.8%, in Europe from 53.4% to 75.8%, in North America from 49.0% to 73.9% and in Latin America from 55.7% to 71.1%. The proportion of Vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) use decreased across all regions over time, in Asia from 26.0% to 9.8%, in Europe from 35.5% to 16.8%, in North America from 28.9% to 12.1%, and in Latin America from 32.4% to 17.8%. In the multivariable analysis, factors associated with NOAC prescription were as follows: enrolment year, type of site, region, stroke and bleeding risk scores, and type and categorization of AF. Conclusions During 4 years after the approval of the first NOAC, NOAC use increased, while VKA use decreased, across all regions.

الوصف: Abstract We report here the genome-wide changes resulting from low N (N-W+), low water (N+W-)) and dual stresses (N-W-) in root and shoot tissues of two rice genotypes, namely, IR 64 (IR64) and Nagina 22 (N22), and their association with the QTLs for nitrogen use efficiency. For all the root parameters, except for root length under N-W+, N22 performed better than IR64. Chlorophyll a, b and carotenoid content were higher in IR64 under N+W+ treatment and N-W+ and N+W- stresses; however, under dual stress, N22 had higher chlorophyll b content. While nitrite reductase, glutamate synthase (GS) and citrate synthase assays showed better specific activity in IR64, glutamate dehydrogenase showed better specific activity in N22 under dual stress (N-W-); the other N and C assimilating enzymes showed similar but low specific activities in both the genotypes. A total of 8926 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified compared to optimal (N+W+) condition from across all treatments. While 1174, 698 and 903 DEGs in IR64 roots and 1197, 187 and 781 in N22 roots were identified, nearly double the number of DEGs were found in the shoot tissues; 3357, 1006 and 4005 in IR64 and 4004, 990 and 2143 in N22, under N-W+, N+W- and N-W- treatments, respectively. IR64 and N22 showed differential expression in 15 and 11 N-transporter genes respectively, under one or more stress treatments, out of which four showed differential expression also in N+W- condition. The negative regulators of N- stress, e.g., NIGT1, OsACTPK1 and OsBT were downregulated in IR64 while in N22, OsBT was not downregulated. Overall, N22 performed better under dual stress conditions owing to its better root architecture, chlorophyll and porphyrin synthesis and oxidative stress management. We identified 12 QTLs for seed and straw N content using 253 recombinant inbred lines derived from IR64 and N22 and a 5K SNP array. The QTL hotspot region on chromosome 6 comprised of 61 genes, of which, five were DEGs encoding for UDP-glucuronosyltransferase, serine threonine kinase, anthocyanidin 3-O-glucosyltransferase, and nitrate induced proteins. The DEGs, QTLs and candidate genes reported in this study can serve as a major resource for both rice improvement and functional biology.

الوصف: Aim: The SAMe-TT2R2 score helps identify patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) likely to have poor anticoagulation control during anticoagulation with vitamin K antagonists (VKA) and those with scores >2 might be better managed with a target-specific oral anticoagulant (NOAC). We hypothesized that in clinical practice, VKAs may be prescribed less frequently to patients with AF and SAMe-TT2R2 scores >2 than to patients with lower scores. Methods and results: We analyzed the Phase III dataset of the Global Registry on Long-Term Oral Antithrombotic Treatment in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation (GLORIA-AF), a large, global, prospective global registry of patients with newly diagnosed AF and ≥1 stroke risk factor. We compared baseline clinical characteristics and antithrombotic prescriptions to determine the probability of the VKA prescription among anticoagulated patients with the baseline SAMe-TT2R2 score >2 and ≤ 2. Among 17,465 anticoagulated patients with AF, 4,828 (27.6%) patients were prescribed VKA and 12,637 (72.4%) patients an NOAC: 11,884 (68.0%) patients had SAMe-TT2R2 scores 0-2 and 5,581 (32.0%) patients had scores >2. The proportion of patients prescribed VKA was 28.0% among patients with SAMe-TT2R2 scores >2 and 27.5% in those with scores ≤2. Conclusions: The lack of a clear association between the SAMe-TT2R2 score and anticoagulant selection may be attributed to the relative efficacy and safety profiles between NOACs and VKAs as well as to the absence of trial evidence that an SAMe-TT2R2-guided strategy for the selection of the type of anticoagulation in NVAF patients has an impact on clinical outcomes of efficacy and safety. The latter hypothesis is currently being tested in a randomized controlled trial. الوصف: Surveillance and surveying are two important applications of empirical research. A major part of terrain modelling is supported by photographic surveys which are used for capturing expansive natural surfaces using a wide range of sensors -- visual, infrared, ultrasonic, radio, etc. A natural surface is non-smooth, unpredictable and fast-varying, and it is difficult to capture all features and reconstruct them accurately. An orthographic image of a surface provides a detailed holistic view capturing its relevant features. In a perfect orthographic reconstruction, images must be captured normal to each point on the surface which is practically impossible. In this paper, a detailed analysis of the constraints on imaging distance is also provided. A novel method is formulated to determine an approximate orthographic region on a surface surrounding the point of focus and additionally, some methods for approximating the orthographic boundary for faster computation is also proposed. The approximation methods have been compared in terms of computational efficiency and accuracy.

الوصف: Despite the recent developments in 3D Face Reconstruction from occluded and noisy face images, the performance is still unsatisfactory. Moreover, most existing methods rely on additional dependencies, posing numerous constraints over the training procedure. Therefore, we propose a Self-Supervised RObustifying GUidancE (ROGUE) framework to obtain robustness against occlusions and noise in the face images. The proposed network contains 1) the Guidance Pipeline to obtain the 3D face coefficients for the clean faces and 2) the Robustification Pipeline to acquire the consistency between the estimated coefficients for occluded or noisy images and the clean counterpart. The proposed image- and feature-level loss functions aid the ROGUE learning process without posing additional dependencies. To facilitate model evaluation, we propose two challenging occlusion face datasets, ReaChOcc and SynChOcc, containing real-world and synthetic occlusion-based face images for robustness evaluation. Also, a noisy variant of the test dataset of CelebA is produced for evaluation. Our method outperforms the current state-of-the-art method by large margins (e.g., for the perceptual errors, a reduction of 23.8% for real-world occlusions, 26.4% for synthetic occlusions, and 22.7% for noisy images), demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach. The occlusion datasets and the corresponding evaluation code are released publicly at https://github.com/ArcTrinity9/Datasets-ReaChOcc-and-SynChOccTest.
