الوصف: The CLEO II detector at the e+e− storage ring CESR has been used to search for two-photon production of the fJ(2220) decaying into π+π−. No evidence for a signal is found in 4.77fb−1 of data and a 95% C.L. upper limit on [τγγBπ+π−]fJ(2220) of 2.5 eV is set. If this result is combined with the BES Collaboration's measurement of fJ(2220)→π+π− in radiative J/Ψ decay and the recent CLEO result for [τγγBK0SK0S]fJ(2220), a 95% C.L. lower limit on the stickiness of 102 is obtained. This result for the stickiness provides further support for a substantial neutral parton content in the fJ(2220). © 1998 The American Physical Society.

الوصف: Using data recorded by the CLEO II detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we report evidence for two new charmed baryons, one decaying into Ξ+cπ+π− via an intermediate Ξ*0c and its isospin partner decaying into Ξ0cπ+π− via an intermediate Ξ*+c. We measure the mass differences of the two states to be M(Ξ+cπ+π−)−M(Ξ+c)=348.6±0.6±1.0 MeV, and M(Ξ0cπ+π−)− M(Ξ0c)=347.2±0.7±2.0 MeV. We interpret these new states as the JP = 3/2− Ξc1 particles, the charmed-strange analogs of the Λ+c1(2625).

الوصف: We present new measurements of photon energies and branching fractions for the radiative transitions [Formula Presented] The masses of the [Formula Presented] states are determined from the measured radiative photon energies. The ratio of mass splittings between the [Formula Presented] substates, [Formula Presented] with [Formula Presented] the [Formula Presented] mass, provides information on the nature of the [Formula Presented] confining potential. We find [Formula Presented] This value is somewhat lower than the previous world average, but more consistent with the theoretical expectation that [Formula Presented] i.e., that this mass splitting ratio is smaller for the [Formula Presented] states than for the [Formula Presented] states.
