It builds on the Blackett review, The Internet of Things: making the most of the second digital revolution, adding detailed knowledge based on research from the PETRAS Cybersecurity of the Internet of Things Research Hub and input from Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering. The report targets government policymakers, regulators, standards bodies and national funding bodies, and will also be of interest to suppliers and adopters of IoT products and services.

الوصف: Bone pain associated with bone marrow infiltration is often present at diagnosis of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). It sometimes signs the presence of pathological fracture, lytic lesions, arthritis, or osteitis associated to ALL that can delay the diagnosis. During treatment, bone complications (pain, osteopenia, fracture, avascular necrosis, ...) are also reported. In order to describe bone involvement (BI) of pediatric LLA, we reviewed the records of 104 patients followed in our unit. The overall incidence of BI was 67 %. At diagnosis, 50 % of patients had BI and in 19 %, the diagnosis of ALL was delayed. During and after treatment, respectively 28 % and 37 % of patients presented bone complications (pain, fractures, avascular necrosis, osteopenia). Patients with BI had a lower leukocytosis inferior to 10x109/l (p = 0.005) and an ALL of average risk (p = 0.019). 38 % of patients with BI during treatment were over 10 years old and 55 % were girls (vs. 21 % and 38 % in the entire cohort, respectively). Osteoporosis was more severe at diagnosis than during treatment, suggesting the presence of constitutional promoting factors. In our cohort, the majority of BI was resolved at the end of treatment with no long-term sequelae.Des douleurs osseuses sont souvent présentes au diagnostic des leucémies lymphoblastiques aiguës (LLA) pédiatriques. Elles signent aussi parfois la présence de fracture pathologique, de lésions lytiques, d’arthrite, ou d’ostéite associées qui peuvent retarder le diagnostic. Lors des traitements, des complications osseuses (douleurs, ostéopénie, fracture, nécrose avasculaire, …) sont également rapportées. Afin de décrire les atteintes osseuses (AO) des LLA pédiatriques, nous avons revu les dossiers de 104 patients suivis dans notre unité. L’incidence globale des AO était de 67 %. Au diagnostic, 50 % des patients avaient une AO et, chez 19 % d’entre eux, le diagnostic de LLA a été retardé. Pendant et après les traitements, respectivement 28 et 37 % des patients ont présenté des complications osseuses (douleurs, fractures, nécrose avasculaire, ostéopénie). Les patients avec AO avaient une leucocytose plus basse inf�rieur a 10x109/l (p = 0,005) et une LLA de risque moyen (p = 0,019). Chez les patients avec AO pendant les traitements, 38 % avaient plus de 10 ans et 55 % étaient des filles (vs 21 % et 38 % dans la cohorte entière). L’ostéoporose était plus sévère au diagnostic que pendant les traitements, suggérant la présence de facteurs favorisants constitutionnels. Dans notre cohorte, la majorité des AO étaient résolues après les traitements de LLA sans séquelles à long terme.

الوصف: We have evaluated a high speed network, Gigabit Ethernet(GbE), with Java/HORB, which means Java and Java-based Distributed Object Technology(DOT). Next generation of data acquisition(DAQ) needs high speed network such as ATM and GbE for data transfer in Level 3 and/or Level 2 trigger of the DAQ at large scale DAQ system like Large Hadron Collider(LHC). When evaluating the basic parameters of GbE, we considered bottleneck of network performance such as TCP buffer size, memory access speed, Maximum Transmission Unit(MTU) and so on. We used network tools called TTCP and Netperf and some Java benchmark programs for evaluating DOTs, namely, HORB, RMI and Voyager. مستخلص: Our new perspective on possible cosmic causes of the tectonic phases as well as our attempt to elaborate a cyclostratigraphic chart of the Neogene for Central Paratethys, imposed a reconsideration of the key data on the Wallachian tectonic phase. Especially since this important moment was “abolished” by some modern authors. The Wallachian phase was defined by Hans Stille in connection with the Neogene–Quaternary limit. But this German geologist relied on the data of Romanian geologists who published, from 1907 to 1924, comments of an orogenic post-Pliocene movement. Subsequently, the Wallachian phase was denied by Macovei, was confused by several authors with the Pasadenian phase or was converted into a sub-stage of the final stage of the Alpine orogenesis. Initially, the appearing of the famous diapir folds of the extra-Carpathian area was exclusively attributed to post-Pliocene movements, but their formation is due to a greater number of Neogene tectonic phases, older than Wallachian phase. However the real effects of this phase were special and that is why this marks an important geological limit. So, the Wallachian phase also marks the beginning of the restriction of the Dacian Basin, the beginning of the accumulation of the “Cândesti Formation”, but also the beginning of the volcanic activity in Persani Mts. However this phase is especially the main cause of the folding and faulting of Pliocene deposits in the Carpathian area, of the accentuation of the diapir folds, but also of the formation of some ellipsoidal and circular tectonic structures, identified by us in the same area. In our opinion, the Wallachian phase connected with the Raup-Sepkoski cycles (R-S cycles, reflecting pulsations of our galaxy), is the last term of a geodynamic series with rare terms (at about 13 ma) and is preceded, in the Neogene, only by one phase of this series (the New-Styrian phase). All other Neogene phases could be moments of another series, with a frequency of 2.05 ma, due to a different cyclicity: Valach climatic cycle, highlighted by us, that must reflect possible pulsations of the Solar System. We describe SoftArch/Thin, a thin-client test-bed generator that synthesises performance test-bed thin-client and server code from high-level software architecture models. This generated code is performance tested using a third-party tool and the results summarised. Architecture models can be evolved and tests repeated during application development to inform software engineers of realistic performance characteristics of their designs. Our environment currently supports J2EE and ASP.NET-based thin-client code generation and performance testing.

الوصف: Introduction On sait qu'un petit poids de naissance (PN) augmente le risque de developper une insulinoresistance (IR) et un diabete de type 2. Ce risque estil detectable des la naissance ? L'insulinemie du nouveau-ne reflete-t-elle deja l'IR ou seulement la croissance fœtale ? Le but est d'etudier la contribution du PN, de la vitesse de croissance fœtale (VCF) et de la composition corporelle sur la secretion d'insuline de nouveau-nes inclus dans une cohorte prospective des la periode fœtale. Patients et methodes Deux cent vingt-sept nouveau-nes a terme (38,9±1,9 SA ; 108 G/119 F) ont eu une mesure prospective de leur VCF entre 22 et 36 SA par echographie. (VCF : changement de percentiles du poids fœtal estime entre 22 SA et la naissance). L'insulinemie a la naissance a ete mesuree sur un prelevement de sang de cordon et la masse grasse estimee par la somme des 4 plis cutanes a J3 de vie. Resultats 61 nouveaux nes presentaient un PN vs 3,42±2,17 mUI/l ; p=0,01). Analyse multivariee : l'insulinemie a la naissance est correlee positivement au PN (p=0,01), et a la VCF (p=0,01), mais non au sexe ou a l'âge gestationnel. Lorsque la somme des plis est ajoutee au modele, l'insulinemie n'est plus correlee au poids de naissance, mais a la VCF (p=0,02) et a la somme des plis (p=0,03). Discussion Le ralentissement de croissance fœtale modifie la composition corporelle du nouveau-ne et s'associe a une insulinemie plus basse. Cette insulinemie reflete donc la qualite de la croissance fœtale et non un etat d'insulino-resistance. Conclusion Les effets de la programmation fœtale se reveleraient donc plus tard sous l'influence de la croissance et de la nutrition postnatale.

الوصف: Bei 5 Pseudoxanthoma elasticum-Kranken wurden angiologische Untersuchungen (elektronische Oscillographie, Venenverschlusplethysmographie, Bestimmung der Pulswellengeschwindigkeit im Rumpf, Belastungs-EKG) durchgefuhrt. Bei allen Patienten wird unabhangig von der weiteren Symptomatik eine Minderung der peripheren Durchblutung festgestellt. Bei fehlender Coronarinsuffizienz und fehlender manifester Hypertonie wird eine signifikant verminderte korperliche Belastbarkeit fahrradergometrisch nachgewiesen, die auf periphere Durchblutungsminderung zuruckzufuhren ist. Im Gegensatz zu Arteriosklerose und Hypertonie ist die Pulswellengeschwindigkeit im Rumpf bei Pseudoxanthoma elasticum normal. Damit ist die Pulswellengeschwindigkeit ein wichtiges klinisches, differentialdiagnostisches Kriterium zur Abgrenzung der Gefasveranderungen bei Pseudoxanthoma elasticum von denen bei den oben genannten Krankheitsbildern.
